Things to know about RJ codes
- Unlike most states, Rajasthan gives codes to many sub-district DTO offices (Abu Road, Bhiwadi, Kishangarh, Nohar and others), not only to districts.
- Jaipur uses two series, RJ-14 and RJ-45.
- The 2023 district reorganisation and its partial reversal in December 2024 changed district names but not the registration codes.
Rajasthan transport department
Registration, licences and permits in Rajasthan are handled by the state transport department and its offices. Official website: Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan (Transport Commissioner, Parivahan Bhawan, Jaipur). Online services are on the national Parivahan Sewa portal.
